My Fathers turns 81.....

This has always been the hardest card for me to make each year because on the 10th of Dec it's a very special day. As I make My Fathers Birthday card it always brings tears to my eyes... So to craft with tears running down my face it can become very difficult to see the card no.( 1 ) and no.( 2) trying to keep my tears from hitting the card and making it all wet... As age plays a big part of all our lives I am so blessed that my Father will be turning 81.... Happy Birthday Dad...I love you...Your Wendy's Gift Card will reach you soon....My Dad just loves Wendy's and he keeps telling my mother that it's always the best Gift he gets!!!!

Details: The stamps are from Gina K Designs and the papers are just a mix that I gave it a distressed look with marvy inks and some faux stitching and dots with my white gel pen and a pretty silver hinge. I made a extra little bottom to the shirt so the word Dad would really stand out and the hat and shirt are attached with pop dots... I decided to make the Gift card holder and attached to the top of a card so that I could write a sweet little note to my dad inside...

Card Crazy Chicks Challenge...

Challenge #2 for my blogging group, Card Crazy Chicks, is Lauren's vintage challenge. Vintage is not easy at all if you were to ask me but I gave it my best shot. I picked a very simple image from memory box called pine branch . I added so much ink to the background to make it look as vintage as I could that I even forgot all the inks I sponged on... Oh well... I added some red gel dots for berries to the image along with my favorite white gel pen... A friend of mine gave me some wonderful mother of pearl pieces hand cut by her father when he worked for a jeweler...So what more could be more vintage then Mother Of Pearl .....

Butterfly inked the same way with making extra wing that I cut out and attached with pop dot...

Have A Great day

A Face in the Leaves...

The stamps I used in this card are from Stampland Stamps... I used glossy card stock and a big leaf stamp that I inked in kaleidacolor ink (Autumn Leaves). I stamped the leaves around the outside of the card-stock and then stamped the face image in the middle using basic black. Then I brushed on green marvy ink over the top. I layered a background border of leaves stamped the same way and added corners and a butterfly punch that I put dots on the wings...

Have a great Day... Thats for looking!!!!

Christmas Paper...SC202 Sketch Challenge

Ok so my Gina K's set "A year of the Flower" was still out on my work table from yesterday, see what I get for not putting things away, I play with them again and again!!!

This was made for Todays" Sketch challenge" at SCS, I used the same poinsettia and leaf I just stamp it with Basic black ink on some pattern type paper that I thought was Christmas looking. Cut all images out and then sewed on some small beads to the middle of flower, pretty green ones. Then Attached with pop dots ,added some Stickles and gel pen highlights to everything...

Ok... You have always heard me taking about my white gel pen and yes I just love it so... but only one brand! I have brought lots of them but this is the best one to use "EVER"... Its so smooth and so so white and it does not bleed or fade once you have applied it, it stays really really white!! It's basically the most PERFECT GEL PEN of all time. DRUM ROLL PLEASE.........

( Signo ) white gel pen

Just in cast you wanted to know ,but: SHHHH Don't tell Anyone I don't want to let my secret out!!!!

Happy Day to all ENJOY

Butterfly Dreams...

The background is made from two nestibilities, I used Liquid applique for the grass and some marvy ink was brushed on for the sky. I colored the butterfly with watercolor pencils and then clear embossed used pop dots to attach. Then added beads for body. I must have a dirty lens again on my camera because the top of the right wing came out blurred. It's time to cook dinner so I can't retake picture... so this one will just have to do....

It's almost Monday I know everyone looks forward to that....lol But have a great week!!!

Hugs to all... thanks for looking

Saturday SCS Inspriration Challenge....

This card was made for the SCS Inspiration Challenge... Wow my head is still spinning from all the SCS Comments I've gotten on this card ...32...and still going!!!!

The Inspiration was by Don Li-Leger, his design style is called Asian Fusion. I grabbed my closest stamp set by flourishes and used a flower stem like stamp ... I don't have bamboo, grass or anything else that is Asian inspired but I did have some Asian word stamps so that was a big plus. I was not sure how this card was going to come together I just knew I needed 3 different shapes and 3 different colors, spending most of my time trying to get the colors just right. My three shapes ended up being bigger then I wanted so after I cut them down and placed them on the card, OOPS I saw my cut was a bit off....shhhh don't tell anyone.....

Thanks so much for looking at all my Challenge cards this week!!! I had so much fun being involved that I'm looking forward to giving it all a try again...
